Benefits of Multiform Technology
The Multiform Harvest cone can treat greater flows using less equipment than conventional cone technologies.
This allows for lower capital costs and simplicity of design and operation. The technology can reduce phosphorus levels in digester solids filtrate by over 80%, and nitrogen levels by up to 20%.
Small Footprint
The Multiform Harvest system does not attempt to “grow” a finished fertilizer product on site. There is no need for a dryer and screener and their associated costs and maintenance. This translates to a smaller footprint at the wastewater plant, and lower capital costs.
Low Retention Time
The Multiform crystallizer cone is a “once-through” system that does not require the recycling of the same wastewater through the cone numerous times. This means there is less equipment to maintain and the reactor volume can be shrunk and footprint reduced.
Thus a Multiform system, with no recycle, can accomplish with one cone what would require five cones in a system with a four-to-one recycle ratio.
In addition, the retention time of the Multiform struvite in the cone is expected to be no longer than two to three days. The Multiform crystallizer cone is not sized to enable tons of struvite pellets to be held in fluidized suspension for periods of up to a month.
Low Operational Overhead
The Multiform Harvest cone technology is designed to require minimal staff operation and intervention. Raw struvite is extracted quickly from the plant wastewater and processed at an offsite Multiform facility. This allows your staff to focus on their core business and not on operating and maintaining a complex fertilizer processing facility on site.
