Technology
The patented Multiform Harvest technology harnesses the high nutrient load of wastewater at municipal treatment plants to generate struvite in a controlled and reliable way. The objective of the technology is to extract struvite from wastewater as quickly and economically as possible.
The Multiform technology can be easily integrated into the existing plant infrastructure and is able to reduce phosphorus levels in wastewater by over 80%, and nitrogen levels by up to 20%.
This represents a significant reduction in the nutrient load being recycled to the headworks of the plant, and considerably lessens the buildup of struvite in pipes, pumps, and other expensive equipment. It also makes biological nutrient removal at the wastewater treatment plant more stable and reliable to operate.
The technology can also be used in other environments where wastewater with excessive levels of phosphorus and ammonia is generated – such as swine and dairy farms, and food processing facilities.
Multiform Harvest struvite is a sustainable slow-release fertilizer that minimizes the environmental impacts of conventional fertilizer, thereby reducing algal blooms and eutrophication.
